台湾大地震の際に救助活動を終えた日本の救助隊が帰国するため桃園国際空港に向かうと、
空港内に日本の救助隊が帰国の途に就くとのアナウンスが流れ空港中が拍手をした。
さらに、機内でも同様のアナウンスが流され同じように拍手を行った。

李登輝元総統は「台湾大地震の恩をこれで少しでも返せたか…」と、
台湾の救助隊が東日本大震災の被災地へ向かった報を聞いて思ったという。
